Health Insurance

Reasons Why Health Insurance Is Important

While you live freely, it is important that you also carry a safety net. There may be times when health issues come up along with added medical costs. This is where health insurance protects you financially. It provides you with coverage for medical treatment costs. If you fall ill, you can claim it from your insurance company. The claim can be made in two ways i.e., cashless or reimbursement. Let’s see what are these two methods of making claim. You will also be able to know why a health insurance plan is important for you. [B-01] Cashless and Reimbursement Claim The cashless claim is where you don’t need to pay your medical treatment cost. The cost is directly paid by the insurance company or the TPA. This facility is available only for treatment in the network hospital. Each insurance company ties up with some hospitals. These are known as network hospitals. The insurance companies directly pay the treatment costs to these network hospitals. The second method is reimbursement. Here, you will have to pay your medical treatment cost first. After discharge from the hospital, you can file a claim with the insurance company. The insurance company will reimburse your medical cost. It will be based on the terms of the insurance policy. Why Health Insurance is Important? Health insurance is one of the most important components of your financial planning. It protects you from huge medical treatment costs. Following are the reasons why you must have a health insurance plan for yourself and your family: Safeguard Your Family Health insurance is important to financially protect your family. Anyone can be covered under health insurance such as your parents, children spouse, etc. Older members of the family are more likely to get infected with diseases. Also, their treatment cost could be higher due to age factors. It is good to have health insurance done beforehand, to avoid any extra expense. Fight Lifestyle Diseases Lifestyle diseases are becoming common. You can consider diabetes for example. More than 74 million adults in India are having diabetes. Other common lifestyle diseases and problems include obesity, hypertension, respiratory diseases, etc. Health insurance provides financial protection against all such major diseases. Also as your lifestyle changes, you get more involved in work you become more prone to health diseases. Protect Your Savings Medical emergencies can take a huge toll on your savings. It is important to ensure that all such medical emergencies are covered by insurance. This ensures that you do not have to bear the financial burden of treatment. Meet Medical Inflation Medical inflation is real. With each passing year, the cost of medical treatments is increasing. For most people, bearing such a high cost of treatment without insurance can put them in deep debt. In the coming years, the cost of medical treatment will rise further. You do not want to face this problem, right? Then you must get health insurance. Cover Exceptional Problems Health insurance is not only limited to normal diseases. It also covers exceptional scenarios. You can also choose to add various riders to your health insurance plan. These riders can include benefits on accidental death, critical diseases, etc. They allow you to customise your health insurance plan as per your needs. How to Select an Ideal Health Insurance? To select ideal health insurance online, you should consider the following factors: Evaluate Your Needs It is important to understand your needs before buying health insurance. What is your current health situation? Are you suffering from any existing medical conditions? How much insurance coverage do you need? What are your annual medical costs? Ask yourself these questions. They will help you decide on the ideal health insurance. Select the Insurer Select an insurer that can fulfil your needs. Ensure you check their reputation and ratings on the internet. Another important factor is the claim settlement ratio (CSR). With higher CSR, there are more chances that the insurance company will approve your claim. Compare Various Policies You should consider various policies. Compare the different policies provided by the insurer. Don’t worry if the insurer cannot provide adequate coverage within your insurance budget. Feel free to go to another insurer. In any case, what’s important is to get adequate coverage. Otherwise, it will defeat the very purpose for which the insurance was purchased. Points to Keep in Mind Before Buying Health Insurance Following are the points you should keep in mind before buying insurance online: Buy at an early stage of life when you are young. You will get good coverage at a lower premium. Disclose your existing health conditions to your insurer. This will ensure that you do not face difficulties while filing for the insurance claim. Read the policy document carefully. Understand everything that is covered and things that are not covered. Go through the network hospital list. You can file a cashless claim only with the network hospital. Don’t hesitate to go for add-ons if they are required. Investing a little extra in add-ons can save you a lot in the future. Check the waiting period for your health insurance. During the waiting period, the existing health conditions won’t be covered under the policy. It can be anywhere between 1 year to 3 years. [B-02] In a Nutshell As stated earlier, health insurance is one of the most important financial components. One can truly realise the importance of health insurance because it acts as a saviour during expensive medical treatments. If you are still uninsured, then it’s time to go and buy a health insurance plan now. Always remember to renew your health insurance timely. This will prevent your health insurance policy from getting lapsed. Once the policy lapses, then you will again have to buy a new one. You will have to again go through the waiting period for existing diseases. You can simply set reminders on your smartphone for the due date of renewal. This will ensure that you don’t miss out on any due dates. Piramal Finance is a one-stop platform for accurate information on financial and banking services. Tax Slabs

Income Tax Slab Rates For 2021-2022

India has a progressive tax system, meaning that the more money earned, the more tax is levied. Taxation in India is based on Income Tax slabs to govern the same. The amount of income, type of taxpayer, residential status, and age are the main determinants of whether the income tax slab is applicable. Income tax is imposed on every individual, HUF, corporation, LLP, and capital income in India. If an individual’s income goes over the minimum threshold limit, they come under the slab system of taxation. This threshold is also known as the “basic exemption limit.” [B-01] What is Income Tax Slab? The Indian taxation system divides taxpayers into many income groups. It makes taxation simplified and more equitable. For example, a person earning Rs 3,00,000 per year doesn’t pay the same amount of tax as someone earning Rs 30,00,000 per year. The tax slab system categorises taxpayers based on their income and levies tax accordingly. No changes were made to the income tax slabs in the proposed budget for 2022. Budget 2020 included a new income tax regime, which became effective in the 2020–21 fiscal year. The old tax regime offered a variety of exemptions and deductions. The new tax regime gives reduced tax rates at the expense of fewer exemptions and deductions. Both options are available to taxpayers. In this article, we will look at the income tax slab rates under both new and old tax regimes for the fiscal year 2021–2022. Tax Payers Under Income Tax Slab 2021-2022 The income tax slab rates for FY 2021–22 extend beyond simply individual taxpayers to several different entities that must abide by the Income Tax Act of 1961’s taxation regulations. Groups that fall under the current income tax or professional tax regulations include: 1. Individuals 2. Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) 3. Association of Persons (AOP) 4. Body of Individuals (BOI) 5. Firms 6. Companies 7. Trust 8. Artificial Judicial Person Income Tax Slab Rates 2021-2022 Currently, taxpayers have two options, i.e., to continue paying taxes at the current tax rates or to pay income tax at reduced rates applicable to the new tax regime. Taxpayers must give up some exemptions and deductions if they choose the new tax regime. However, they are eligible for deductions and exemptions if they go with the previous system and pay tax at the current higher rate. The new Indian tax regime works better for individuals with the middle-class income slab, i.e., up to Rs 15 lakhs. The old Indian tax regime is better for those having a high income. Seven lower-income tax slabs are included in the new tax regime, which is favourable for taxpayers who make little investments. The new tax system that was proposed in 2020 provides some assistance to Indian cooperative societies, HUFs, senior citizens, and salaried people. Taxpayers with a substantial investment portfolio and who have invested in tax-saving strategies should choose the previous tax system. The old tax regime offers a higher tax deduction and lower tax outlay. The investment portfolio may include health and life insurance, ULIP, children’s tuition, EMI, mortgage/home loan, etc. Things to Consider While Choosing the New Tax Regime The deductions and exemptions available under the old tax regime will no longer be available to taxpayers who choose lower rates under the new regime. There are a total of 70 exemptions and deductions that are unavailable. No changes were made for the LLPs or partnership companies. Also, domestic businesses and cooperative societies will need to be aware that many of the deductions they were formerly entitled to under the previous tax regime are no longer available under the new one. Exemptions/Deductions Unavailable Under the New Tax Regime House Rent Allowance (HRA) Relocation allowance Conveyance allowance Leave Travel Allowance (LTA) Standard deduction on salary Allowance for children’s education Helper allowance Daily expenses during employment Interest on housing loan (Section 24) Professional tax Other special allowances [Section 10(14)] Deduction under Chapter VI-A (80C,80D, 80E and so on) (Except Section 80CCD (2)) Exemptions/Deductions Available Under the New Tax Regime Conveyance allowance for costs related to work commute Any allowance for travel related to employment or a transfer Transport allowance for specially-abled people Investment in Notified Pension Scheme U/S80CCD (2) Deduction for hiring new employees under section 80JJAA under section 80JJAA Depreciation U/S 32 of the Income Tax Act, except for additional depreciation [B-02] Conclusion Determine your tax liability under both regimes with and without deductions and exemptions. Overall, you must compare and evaluate the two regimes to select the most suitable one for you. Depending on your needs, the tax regime that results in the lowest tax liability would be preferable. However, we suggest you go with the old tax regime if you are a significant tax planner. Credit Score

Which is Better: Equifax Credit Score or Wishfin Cibil?

Credit bureaus like CIBIL and Equifax are working in the Indian market. Equifax, a competitor with a less well-known name, started doing business in India in 2020, ten years after CIBIL. The main office of each of these agencies is in Mumbai. Indian banks and credit reporting groups tell Equifax and CIBIL how to use credit. They then compile all of this information into a report that lenders can use to learn about their finances or credit history. The two groups do almost the same things. But the two firms give credit reports and help solve disputes differently. This article will explain how Wishfin CIBIL, Equifax Credit Score, and other services are different and also similar at the same time. [B-01] What is a Wishfin CIBIL Score? Your Wishfin CIBIL is a number based on your credit history and shows your solvency. It can be anywhere from 300 to 900. The closer your Wishfin CIBIL Score is to 900, the more likely it is that your credit card request or loan application will be approved. According to the CIBIL website, a score of 750 or higher is a great Wishfin CIBIL score that helps lenders decide whether or not to give out loans. The credit history in the CIBIL Report Analysis is used to figure out this score. It is just a summary of the CIBIL report, which shows the company’s solvency. Importance of Wishfin CIBIL Scores When you want to get a loan, you need a Wishfin CIBIL score. When someone asks a bank or other financial firm for a loan, the lender usually looks first at the person’s Wishfin CIBIL score and credit history. The lender may not grant the loan if the credit score is low. Even if you have a good Wishfin CIBIL score, the lender will still look at the request and other things to decide if you are creditworthy. It’s the first evaluation that the lender does. If your score is 700 or more, you did a good job. What is an Equifax Credit Score? Equifax Credit Scores, which range from 300 to 900, show your credit history. This is done using data from credit providers like banks and financial institutions. A full credit information review goes along with the data in this score. This report gives an overview of your loans and credit cards, as well as details about how you have paid back their debts and where they can be found. This data comes from places where they’ve taken out loans or used credit cards. Credit scores from Equifax show how likely you are to pay back loans. A higher score shows a potential lender that you will pay their bills and loans on time, which may help them decide whether or not to accept the loan paperwork. Equifax Credit Score vs. Wishfin Cibil Score Equifax and Wishfin CIBIL keep all of a user’s financial data, including current and past loans, payments, and allowances, in a single report. Difference Between Equifax Credit Score & Crif Score

If you want to apply for a loan or a credit card, you must know about your credit scores. Banks and other lending firms use credit bureau records to check a person’s past credit behavior. Every time a bank gives a loan, it assumes some risk since there is a chance the borrower will not be able to pay it back. A credit score report can help reduce this risk. This is why having a good credit score is crucial. Indian banking firms give data about a person’s credit-related past to Equifax credit score and Crif score. They then compile this data into a report format for lenders to read and better understand the credit history of a person. Both bodies carry out tasks that are quite similar. But there are some differences in how the two bodies give credit reports and handle dispute resolution services. [B-01] What is an Equifax Credit Score? [B-02] The Bottom Line The reports from any of the bureaus discussed in this article are precise and accurate, as each credit bureau has its own methods for computing your credit score. Due to the distinct methods of computing credit scores, a person’s credit score can be different for both agencies. This does not make one agency better than the other. Also, without making a distinction between them, the banks and NBFCs give your credit data to all of these credit bodies. Therefore, the results derived by both of these agencies are reliable and can be used to determine your credit score.
