Syed Imtiaz Ahmed is the Chief Business Officer – Retail Lending at Piramal Finance Limited, bringing over 28 years of experience in retail banking, including over 2 decades in retail lending.

He has a strong track record of scaling large mortgage businesses, having grown portfolios from ₹9,000 crore to over ₹2,00,000 crore across Home Loans, Loan Against Property, and Affordable Housing. He has also been among the early leaders in building affordable housing portfolios within a banking environment.

At Piramal Finance, he plays a key role in driving retail lending growth, including doubling the home loan portfolio over a three-year period and accelerating expansion in the MSME lending segment.

Over his career, he has led large teams, managed relationships with more than one million customers across Priority and NRI segment's and built extensive partnerships across Direct Assignment and Co-lending. He has also been instrumental in setting up large-scale distribution networks, including setting up sales subsidiaries with 40,000+ feet on the street.

Imtiaz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Symbiosis College, a Postgraduate degree in Business Management from Amity Business School, and has completed the Strategic Agility program from Harvard Business School.
