Anand Piramal is the Chairman at Piramal Finance and also leads the Piramal Group’s Real Estate businesses as Executive Director at Piramal Realty.

Since joining Piramal Finance in 2019, Anand spearheaded the company’s Retail Lending platform, led the landmark ₹34,250 crore acquisition of DHFL (the largest financial services resolution under IBC), and steered the company’s pivot from wholesale real estate lending to a diversified, technology-led NBFC. Under his leadership, the retail business has provided over 5 million customers with loans, including over 2.5 million ‘life-changing’ loans to underserved communities for affordable housing and MSMEs, and is committed in its mission to empower semi-urban and rural communities with affordable and meaningful credit.

Under Anand’s guidance, Piramal Realty is developing over 11 million square feet of residential and commercial space in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Piramal Realty has delivered over 20 towers and 3,300 units across projects, with a strong focus on quality and customer centricity.

Anand holds an Economics degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has been recognised in the Economic Times and Fortune India 40 Under 40 lists, and received the Hurun Real Estate Unicorn of the Year Award.
